KUALA LUMPUR, 8 May 2015 – New medical supplies have arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Singapore today, courtesy of Rotary Club Singapore and assisted by the Consulate of Nepal Singapore in collaboration with Malindo Air. The first of 0.8 tonnes of emergency supplies are headed for Kathmandu tonight as relief aid continues to pour in to disaster victims in Nepal.

The cargo is carrying medical supplies, swab sticks, bandages, water purifications tablets and other medical provisions.

Over the past two weeks since the earthquake hit, Malindo Air has been continuously contributing to Nepal’s appeal for relief aid through sponsored flight tickets for medical personnel and aircraft cargo space for medical supplies via scheduled flights to Kathmandu.

The airline also worked with NGOs such as MERCY Malaysia to transport the items.

Malindo Air CEO, Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy said, “Our heartfelt prayers are with the victims of the disastrous earthquake. We are more than glad to offer a helping hand to ensure these emergency supplies arrive at even the remotest areas hit by the disaster. We are making a commitment to help wherever we can.”
