A'Famosa
Although the remains of Porta De Santiago – built by the Portuguese as a fortress in 1511 – are nothing more than a quick photo stop, it is a must for anyone visiting Malacca. The Dutch destroyed most of the fort but what remains today was saved by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1810. The Romanesque architecture as well as the cool breezes wafting through the ruined walls will make your exploration a pleasant one.
Coral Wonderland
Coral Wonderland Malacca is the Malaysia’s first coral park, hosting over 1,000 species of marine fish and corals. Opened in 2011, the coral park is home to Asia’s longest touch pool, and the country’s longest coral aquarium, giving you a chance for in-depth look on loved marine life. It is situated at level 4 of the conveniently-located Dataran Pahlawan shopping mall. Filled with interesting and colourful marine creatures such as clown fish and seahorses, Coral Wonderland is divided into nine separate sections with each focusing on a species or a theme, with corresponding activities for both adults and kids to enjoy.
Maritime Museum
Melaka Maritime Museum is a replica of the Flor de la Mar, a Portuguese ship said to have been carrying loot plundered from Malacca when it sank off the coast of Malacca on its way back to Portugal. Opened to the public in 1994, this unique museum is an enlightening trip back into Malacca’s past.The 34m-high, 36m-long and eight-metre-wide structure is located at Quayside Road (right beside the. Crocodile Farm
The Malacca Crocodile Farm, more commonly known as Taman Buaya Melaka, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ayer Keroh, a suburb of Malacca just 10 minutes from the Ayer Keroh toll plaza. Family friendly and filled with a variety of croc species, the farm is not just home to over 100 species of crocs – it also houses five different attractions in the surrounding 3.5ha park: Malaysia in Miniature, Aviary Bird Park, Reptile House, Mamalia House and Water Recreation Park.
