Kings Park

Cottesloe Beach
An iconic beach for Perth locals and visitors alike. Cottesloe, blessed with a wide sweep of squeaky white sand is fringed on one side by the transparent turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, and on the other by cafes, restaurants and casual beachy shops. Every March the beach is transformed into an outdoor gallery, when Sculpture by the Sea brings giant artworks and thousands of visitors to the shore.
Rottnest Island
Take a journey around Perth’s secluded island playground. Whilst Perth’s rapid transformation has seen the city gain international recognition for music, arts, food and wine, one thing that hasn’t changed is the relaxed pace and tempo of the city’s go to getaway isle. Home to 63 white sandy beaches, pristine reefs and the friendly native marsupial quokkas, Rottnest can be accessed by ferry, plane or helicopter and even a seaplane from the city centre. Fremantle
Perth’s bohemian sister city lies at the mouth of the Swan River, a short train ride west of Perth’s city centre. Effortlessly blending old and new, Fremantle offers a glimpse back to Perth’s early years with preserved historic streetscapes, and a European feel that carries through to today in numerous coffee shops, tapas bars, and restaurants serving up the freshest seafood straight from the harbor. Fremantle’s weekly markets have been a fixture of the week for more than 100 years, and bring together street food, craft stores, artists and local produce every Saturday at the central market hall. Also watch out for the Bathers Beach sunset markets on Saturday evenings through summer.
Perth Zoo
Travel from Elizabeth Quay in the CBD via public ferry to Perth Zoo in South Perth. The zoo offers animal exhibits, behind-the-scenes tours, interactive experiences, plus grassed picnic areas and cafes – all set against a backdrop of 1,258 animals from across the globe, as well as a host of protected Australian species.
