PUTRAJAYA, 4 Apr 2014 – A signing ceremony between the Government of Malaysia and Malindo Air took place at Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia yesterday to mark the hybrid carrier’s collaboration with the Government for bulk payment services.Through this agreement, government officials may fly with Malindo Air using a special travel warrant, given that their travel is authorized by the Government.

The travel warrant, called Waran Perjalanan Udara Awam (WPUA), is valid for government officials travelling domestically and internationally on official duty and will entitle them to Malindo Air standardised rates and dedicated hotlines.About a hundred directors of government agencies in the Federal Territory and Selangor converged to witness the momentous ceremony, signifying the beginning of a new partnership.

Guests present at the ceremony were given a glimpse of the services and privileges offered by Malindo Air, such as spacious leather seats, free in-flight meals and aerobridge boarding.Representing the Malaysian government at the ceremony was YBhg Datuk Wan Selamah binti Wan Sulaiman, the Accountant General of Malaysia.

Malindo Air CEO, Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy, who signed on behalf of Malindo Air, said, “We all have the same ideals to uplift the local aviation industry, and we hope this is taking the first step towards that direction”.“With this agreement, we hope to support the government by providing seamless connectivity and unparalleled convenience in travel for all their flying needs,” he added.

Malindo Air is the third airline to have an agreement with the government for bulk payment services.
