
Kuala Lumpur, 14 MAY 2015: Malaysia’s Malindo Air has selected Panasonic Avionics (“Panasonic”) and Aeromobile for inflight communications on board its young fleet of Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. The hybrid airline will officially become the first in the region to offer unlimited broad-based web surfing. The services, aptly named Malindo WiFi and Malindo Mobile, will be officially be online on 18th May 2015.
Established in 2013 and based in Kuala Lumpur, Malindo Air will begin offering Panasonic’s eXConnect inflight broadband connectivity and eXPhone mobile phone services powered by Aeromobile. The airline will offer this service without limiting users to a number of applications or websites.
With the global mobile phone service eXPhone powered by Aeromobile, passengers can use voice, data, SMS and browsing services right from their mobile device using the onboard cellular network.
Panasonic’s eXConnect service allows passengers to access a broadband Wi-Fi connection that lets them surf the web, send and receive email, stay connected to news and social media, and more as they travel at 30,000 feet above ground.
