IPOH, 19 JUN 2015 – Malindo Air, Malaysia’s first hybrid airline will commence Ipoh-Singapore-Ipoh daily services beginning 14 July 2015. This route will officially be the airline’s first Boeing operation from Ipoh using its Boeing 737NG (New Generation). Currently Malindo Air operates ATR72-600 aircraft at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipoh.
Ticket sales are now open online at www.malindoair.com and at all Malindo Air ticketing counters nationwide. Promo fares start from as low as RM128 one-way inclusive of 20kg baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and light refreshments.
This move aligns with Malindo Air’s plan to strengthen its presence and to connect to major domestic and international cities. The daily service departs from Changi Airport (Terminal 3) at 10:00am and arrives at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, Ipoh at 11:25am. The flight departs the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, Ipoh at 12:10pm and arrives at Changi Airport (Terminal 3) at 1:30pm.
This new sector Ipoh-Singapore is a part of the airline’s route expansion and enhancement plan with the delivery of two B737NG aircraft. This new delivery will boost the fleet size to a total of 21, comprising 10 Boeing aircraft and 11 ATR 72-600 aircraft. Malindo Air is expecting a delivery of six more B737NG jets by December 2015.
CEO of Malindo Air, Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy said, “The airline is fast expanding with its plan to connect to more domestic and international cities. We would be adding new aircraft to the fleet, where two out of eight aircraft orders have arrived and we are immediately adding frequencies and deploying them to new regional routes.”
This month also, Malindo Air launched new in-flight connectivity services, Malindo WiFi and Malindo Mobile, and its official in-flight magazine, MALINDOMAG.
