KUALA LUMPUR, 18 AUG 2015 – In a continuous effort to promote Year of Festivals 2015 as well as tourism and investment in the state of Penang, and at the same time offer travelers convenient connecting flights into picturesque Penang, Malindo Air, Malaysia’s hybrid airline, will launch its new Penang-Trichy-Penang service on 26 September 2015.
Flight OD 225 will depart Penang International Airport at 8:30pm and arrive in Tiruchirapalli International Airport, Trichy at 9:40pm. The return flight, OD 226, will then depart Trichy at 10:30pm and arrive in Penang at 4:45am on the following day. The flights will take place two times weekly on every Tuesday and Saturday.
To celebrate the launch, Malindo Air now offers promotional air fare of only RM399 one way all-inclusive for economy class and RM799 one way all-inclusive for business class between Penang and Trichy, available for purchase from 18 August 2015.
“The tourism industry in Penang is flourishing with the increased number of inbound tourists, and this new milestone services will certainly give accessibility and convenience for travellers from Trichy. Additionally, the new connectivity will spur economic development by encouraging new investment and business developments in the state of Penang,” said CEO of Malindo Air, Chandran Rama Muthy.
Chandran added, “It is our commitment to serve and fulfil the gap in regional connectivity. More new route announcements will be made in earnest in the coming months, as we are expecting to receive delivery of four more aircraft until year-end. We hope to continue expanding our portfolio aggressively as we receive more aircraft.”
