KUALA LUMPUR, 13 JUL 2022 – Batik Air (recently rebranded from Malindo Air), announces today that all bookings are now open for daily services from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to three more new destinations – KUL to Phuket; KUL to Surabaya; and KUL to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon).

The 7X weekly services marks the airline's promise to continue its international network expansion after recently being officially rebranded as Batik Air.

Batik Air will effectively launch its services to Phuket on 1 Aug; to Surabaya on 10 Aug; and to Ho Chi Minh on 15 Sep.

Promotional fares for one-way on the new routes are as follows:

The fares are all inclusive of free baggage allowance – 20kg for Economy and 40kg for Business Class.

The narrow-body Boeing 737-800NG aircraft will be deployed on the new routes to Phuket and Surabaya, whereas the B737-8 with the Economy class configuration type will be used on the KUL – Ho Chi Minh route.

CEO of Malindo Air, Capt Mushafiz Bin Mustafa Bakri said, “We are very delighted to introduce Phuket, Surabaya and Ho Chi Minh, which are popular with both business and leisure travelers. The daily frequency on these routes underscores the strong and growing economic, business and tourism links between Malaysia and Thailand; Indonesia and Vietnam. The flights will also improve the connectivity of Phuket, Surabaya and Ho Chi Minh to the rest of the world via KLIA as a regional hub. The scheduling of the three services to depart and arrive at various times during the day, gives our customers more options to choose a flight which better suits their travel needs.”

Mushafiz added, “Moreover, with the dynamism injected by Tourism Malaysia to boost our tourism scene by the numerous developments for the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia, there has never been a better time to visit Malaysia. To enable more visitors to experience Malaysia’s latest and most exciting offerings, we have gone one step further by introducing these new services.”
